Análisis comparativo entre el método tradicional y el Proyecto INNOVAMAT para la enseñanza de las matemáticas en educación infantil

    Abstract:
    In this research, a comparative analysis is made between two methods of teaching and learning mathematics, namely the Traditional Method and an Experiential Method such as the Innovamat Project. These two methods are being carried out in Early Childhood Education classrooms, there are schools where they are innovating with these new methods, although many still continue with traditional learning. The objectives set are to compare the Traditional Method and the Innovamat Project in mathematics for the acquisition of better mathematical competence in Early Childhood Education; to evaluate which method achieves better mathematical competence. Firstl, the theoretical framework is detailed, where the characteristics of each method are exposed through bibliographic research, as well as how children acquire mathematical competence. Next, “The Ultrecht Early Mathematical Competence Test” (TEMT-U) is carried out in two educational centers with a sample of 5 years old children. Finally, the results are analyzed to explain which of the two methods achieves better mathematical competence.
