Reading habits analysis of a public high school (2014-2015)

    Abstract:
    This research aims to know the reading habits of a public High School, as well as the perception that those have in the lecture. Summing up, what is wanted to be mainly analyzed are: frequency and amount of reading, reading’s reasons, reading tastes and pupils reading perception. Although the main analyzed sample are 48 high school pupils, 16 pupils of each academic course, 4 professors of the high school have taken part in it in order to extract data and to compare even more the information. The used measuring instruments were a questionnaire about reading habits (own written), which has been administered to the pupils, and an interview (also own written), administered to the chosen professors. Furthermore, there has been a data information analysis, which from it, the conclusions have been drawn. The main conclusion is that, the teenagers from 12 years old start to lose their reading habits progressively. Key words: reading habits, students, secondary education, teenagers.
