Abstract: This project deals with the translation and subtitles of the Spanish Tv Series “Velvet” into English. The objective is to achieve an accurate and idiomatic translation and to put the subtitles following the standardized parameters. This project shows some of the translation and subtitling problems found in the episode and how they were resolved. The episode chosen deals with funny expressions, jokes, typical Spanish expressions, colloquial vocabulary, cultural elements, etc. The translation strategy used is a foreignizing strategy, keeping some linguistic and cultural elements of the source text when translating. The tools used were the episode of the TV Series and the subtitling tool Aegisub. Aquest projecte tracta de la traducció i els subtítols de la sèrie Tv espanyola “Velvet” a l'anglès. L'objectiu és aconseguir una traducció precisa i idiomàtica i posar els subtítols seguint els paràmetres estandarditzats. Aquest projecte mostra alguns dels problemes de traducció i subtitulació trobats a l'episodi i com es van resoldre. L'episodi escollit tracta d'expressions divertides, acudits, expressions típiques de l'espanyol, vocabulari col·loquial, elements culturals, etc. L'estratègia de traducció utilitzada és una estratègia d'estrangerització, mantenint alguns elements lingüístics i culturals del text d'origen a l'hora de traduir. Les eines utilitzades van ser l'episodi de la sèrie de televisió i l'eina de subtitulació Aegisub.
