    Abstract:
This final degree project consists of the complete design and analysis of the suspension system of a Formula Ford 1600 vehicle, complying with the requirements established in the 'Formula Ford 1600 UK Kent 2024' regulations. For the development of the project, an exhaustive study of the suspension system to be developed has been carried out. This analysis includes the study of the 3 behaviours that can be identified: kinematic behaviour, dynamic behaviour, and structural behaviour. The first study investigated is the kinematic analysis, which focuses on the movement of the wheels. All possible wheel paths have been analysed to ensure good grip in various driving conditions. This analysis makes it possible to determine the wheel paths and the optimal configuration of the suspension elements to maximize grip and performance on the track. The second study focuses on the dynamic analysis of the vehicle, evaluating its response to various excitations to optimize comfort and performance. Through simulations of different driving conditions, the suspension configuration was adjusted, guaranteeing predictable and safe behaviour, and comfortable driving. The third study involves the structural analysis of the suspension components. This analysis ensures that all designed elements can withstand the loads and stresses during vehicle operation. Simulation and testing tools have been used to validate that the selected materials and designs meet the required standards. Together, these three studies, together with the detail of the manufacturing processes, have provided a comprehensive approach to the development of the suspension system, ensuring that the vehicle not only complies with current regulations, but also offers superior performance in terms of handling, safety, and comfort in Formula Ford 1600 competition.
