Abstract:
This Master's thesis (TFM) consists of a simulation of a translation assignment and all that it implies, as well as a commentary on it and a self-evaluation. For this purpose, a translation project has been developed from English to Spanish of an article in the sociocultural and political field, specifically on the attitudes of citizens towards migration in the United Kingdom. Thus, the article, published in 2021 by Holloway and Smart with Faures, Kumar and Leach, and entitled "Public narratives and attitudes towards refugees and other migrants", is based on the role and status of migration in the United Kingdom at different times and in different sectors. Some of the most notable translation issues in the paper will be the gendering of health workers and the specific terminology the authors use to talk about the world of health and its different agencies and procedures.
