How to increase Fluency and Self-confidence in the English Classroom using CLT and TikTok as an Educational Tool

    Abstract:
    This study investigates the impact of combining Communicative Language Teaching, Task-Based Learning, and gamification with TikTok to boost oral fluency and self-confidence in teenage ESL learners. Using a quasi-experimental design, one group engaged in TikTok-based, gamified activities while a control group followed traditional methods. Results show that the experimental group demonstrated greater willingness to speak, higher engagement, and reduced anxiety. Most students found TikTok helpful for language development, with 85% reporting improved skills and 78% increased confidence. The findings highlight the effectiveness of innovative, technology-driven approaches in overcoming barriers to spoken English and preparing students for real-world communication.
