The absorption capacity of knowledge as a linking factor between the cognitive social capital and the forms of inter-organizational learning.

    Abstract:
    This research, prepared as TFM, aims to determine if there is a mediating effect of the Knowledge Absorption Capacity (CAC) on the Cognitive Social Capital (CSC) and the forms of Inter-Organizational Learning (APR) of SMEs in the province of Tarragona. It is an exploratory study, which aims to evaluate the phenomenon of the management of an intangible asset, such as knowledge, focusing mainly on the variables of assimilation, acquisition, transformation and exploitation of knowledge, to assess whether companies carry out this process and to what extent they do it, based on the theory originally developed by Cohen and Levinthal (1990, 1994) and Zahra and George (2002). The results obtained suggest that, in fact, the Knowledge Absorption Capacity (CAC) exerts a positive and significant total or complete mediation effect on the relationship between Cognitive Social Capital (CSC) and Inter-Organizational Learning (APR) of SMEs in the province of Tarragona (Catalonia).
