Title in different languages: The effects of mindfulness on high school students’ vocabulary acquisition
Abstract: This study focuses on how a short mindfulness exercise may affect high school students’ vocabulary acquisition. Furthermore, this study suggests some ways of implementing mindfulness in schools according to the available literature. For my experiment, I worked with two classes of the first of bachillerato. One class was the control group, and the other one the experimental group. Both classes did two vocabulary tests, and a short mindfulness exercise preceded them for the experimental group. The results of the second vocabulary test were statistically significant P(T<=t) two-tail = 0.029288555. The use of mindfulness increased students’ rate of vocabulary acquisition.
