Title in different languages: Milk and dairy product consumption and short-term changes in cognitive performance
Abstract: Milk and dairy product consumption may have an impact on cognitive function. This study’s objective was to longitudinally assess the association between consumption of milk and dairy products with changes in cognitive performance. 4,668 participants of the PREDIMED-Plus cohort completed both food frequency questionnaire and neuropsychological tests. Multivariable linear regression models were used to compare 2-year changes in cognitive function across tertiles of milk and dairy product consumption at baseline. A higher total milk and whole-fat milk consumption was associated with greater decline in global cognitive function z-score over a 2-year period in older adults at high cardiovascular disease risk.
